INITIATIVES
The Women’s Pipeline for Change has defined the following four initiatives to build, understand, and support progressive women of color leaders:
- A Participatory Action Research Fellowship for
Women of Color Leaders to understand the experiences of progressive women of color in different stages of the political pipeline in order to better support present and future leadership. Five extraordinary women of color leaders were selected to participate in the first class of Research Fellows for 2011-2012. - A One Stop Resource Network for Women of Color Leaders to serve as an access point for individuals entering and moving up the political pipeline.
- A Continuous Community Campaign that seeks to intentionally support community leadership and democratic decision-making in a campaign, while building ownership and a cohort of new leaders who are pursuing a vision for their community collaboratively.
- Policy Change to insure that systemic barriers are eliminated to level the playing field for all candidates and encourage full representation of women, people of color and low-income communities.
